As if we couldn’t love The Inbetweeners anymore, footage of an interpreter signing the series has resurfaced online, and it’s got people in stitches.
The hit Channel 4 series might have left us in 2010 but its memory lives on in our hearts and on Reddit, with users on the CasualUK subreddit re-discovering some class footage of a signer doing their best to interpret the iconic bus w***ers scene.
We didn’t think it was possible for the iconic scene to get any funnier, but this post has absolutely proved us wrong.
For those not familiar, the scene sees Jay Cartwright (James Buckley) driving along with the boys as they pass a bus stop.
He winds down his window and shouts ‘bus w***ers’ at the people on the street – only for the car to break down shortly after.

It’s one of the best scenes from the show, and a decade later the scene still hits, with a clip being shared to Reddit yesterday, 26 August along with the caption: “Today I learned that you can get the inbetweeners with sign language.”
And it didn’t disappoint, with the signer throwing out some of the most entertaining interpretations I’ve ever seen; I’m saying this as a girl that was born deaf and loves watching rap signing videos.

Commenters on Reddit were also quick to react to the video, with one user writing: “I needed to see this today! Thank you”
While another was surprised that they recognised the sign language gesture: “So apparently I’ve known how to say ‘w***er’ in sign language this whole time.”
To which another replied: “Add ‘bilingual’ to your CV”.
Another was a little hurt by the whole thing, writing: “I’ve always wondered what the hand signal was for ‘w***er’ I now realise other motorists aren’t waving at me to say hello.”
Some wanted to see the signed version of Jay’s other anecdotes, with one writing: “Love to see the one where Jay is talking about the two birds he had in the caravan.”
While another added: “i want to see about the dutch girl who s**t down his arm.”
But, honestly, what better material for a signer is there than Jay spouting non-stop nonsense?
